Greenwich Games, Inc. “Top Board: A Bridge Solitaire” Playing Cards, Trapezoidal Shape Cards, “Squeezes + A Collection Of Fascinating Hands To Tax Your Skill,” c.1983
Rare and unusual deck of trapezoid shaped cards – wider at the top than at the bottom -- titled “Top Board: A Bridge Solitaire,” a deck that is a bridge training aid that can be used by a single player. It was made in 1983 by Greenwich Games, Inc., and this particular deck features “Squeezes + A Collection of Fascinating Hands to Tax Your Skill.” The backs of the cards have directional arrows that show how the hands are to be dealt. There is an instruction card that describes the deck and how to deal it, and an extra card that describes the successful bid for that hand (i.e., the contract to be played) and the opening lead. A total of 24 different hands can be dealt, and there are 2 cards with “Solutions to First 4 Hands.”
This deck has 52 suited cards, and all 4 of the insert cards – the instructions card, the contracts and opening leads card, and the 2 solutions cards. The cards are 89mm x 58mm at the widest (top), and x 51mm at the narrowest (bottom). The come in the original box, a box bottom inside a sleeve.
The cards are as new. The box bottom has one end where something has come unglued; the sleeve is in very good condition with very slight shelf wear.
