Excellent set of Congress 606 cards, made c.1900 by United States Playing Card Co., with backs depicting a woman at a spinning wheel. The backs are probably based upon a painting that was well-known in its time, but that I am now unable to identify or locate online.
The deck has 52 cards, plus a Congress 606 Joker. The cards are wide, measuring 89mm x 63mm, with beautiful gold gilt edges. They come in the original telescope box, with a remnant of an early tax stamp.
The card are in excellent condition, lightly used if at all, with most of the gold gilt intact. The outer box is in very good condition, structurally intact, but with light soiling; the inner box is in excellent condition.
