Wonderful set of maritime cards by Waddington for Kerr-Silver Services, a company that operated a round-the-world passenger and freight steamship line during the 1930s. The backs show a photograph of one of the Kerr-Silver Fleet ships at sea. The silver border and silver portion of the fleet’s logo have a metallic sheen, similar to gilt that is often on the sides of the cards, that adds to their beauty. The box has the remnants of a U.S. tax stamp dating the cards pretty reliably to the 1930s.
The deck has 52 cards, plus 1 Joker. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are “as new,” in pristine condition. The box is in good, perhaps very good, condition, structurally sound, but with wear to the outer box at the edges and with some light soiling.
Thanks for visiting.
