Set of fortune cards made by AG Muller in the mid-1990s based upon the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It has certain broad similarities to a traditional set of tarot cards, but there are substantial differences. It was apparently conceived by Mario Montano and features the marvelous artwork of Amerigo Folchi. Occasionally that artwork is somewhat derivative, based upon famous paintings from history. I do not know how well the deck lends itself to readings, especially if one is not familiar with the New Testament, but for Chrisitians it is a fascinating set of cards.
The set consists of 78 cards, as follows: (i) 22 cards numbered O through XXI, called the “Major Cards,” akin to Major Arcana in a traditional deck; (ii) 40 cards numbered 1 through 40, called the “Minor Cards”; and (iii) 16 cards unnumbered that are called “People Cards.” The cards are accompanied by a 102 page booklet written by Montano, describing the deck and how to read the cards. The cards are traditional tarot size, measuring 120mm x 70mm, and they come in the original box.
It appears that these cards were later published by U.S. Games, but I do not think U.S. Games was involved with original set.
The cards are “as new,” and the box is in excellent condition except for a spot on the back of the box where it appears that a price tag was removed.
