Mint, sealed (cards, not box) and somewhat rare double deck of cards made by Canadian Playing Card Co. c.1935 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the reign of King George V and Queen Mary. The backs of one deck feature a portrait of King George V in military dress and the backs of the other show a regal portrait of Queen Mary.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus the standard Canadian Playing Card Co. Joker, plus a backed card with bridge scoring – an auction bridge card in the Queen Mary deck, and a contract bridge card in the King George V deck. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 57mm. They are housed in the original box.
As noted, the cards are mint and sealed. The box is in no better than good condition, still structurally sound, but with soiling, splits developing at corners of the lid, and strips of light blue and red tape on the top lid.
