Gorgeous double deck set of the Hermes cards that feature the wonderful illustrations of famous French graphic designer, Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron (pseudonym, "Cassandre"). This is the second printing of these cards by Draeger-Freres. The first edition was published in 1948, and the cards were published about two years later in this second edition.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus an insert card. The cards are slightly large and wide, measuring 91mm x 60mm, and have gold gilt around. The cards are housed in the distinctive orange Hermes box. I should note that sets of these cards frequently have individual card boxes for each deck that are then inserted into the Hermes box, but here there are no individual boxes.
The cards are in excellent condition, very lightly used if at all, with almost all gold gilt intact. The Hermes box is in very good condition, but with some wear and light staining to the top lid.
