Excellent deck of souvenir cards titled, "52 Selected Views of Scotland," featuring Raphael Tuck photographs of Scotland scenes, in the original box. The box states that the cards were printed in Great Britain, and the Joker acknowledges that copyright protection for Tuck. The World Web Playing Card Museum dates these cards to 1958 and states that De La Rue is the maker, and I have adopted the date and maker attribution here. But there is doubt about the matter, as the Raphael Tuck images seem to be much earlier in time than the 1950s.
The deck consists of 52 cards, each with an oval image of a Scotland scene, plus 2 Jokers showing the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom. The backs and box show the same Coat of Arms. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm.
The cards are in "as new" condition, viewed but never used. The box shows signs of age and wear on the surface, but is structurally fine.
Thanks for visiting.
