Excellent deck of gorgeous cards made by the State Printing Works of the then Soviet Union to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the card-making industry in Russia. It was first published in 1967, and more or less continuously thereafter until 1995; I have dated these to the earliest date possible, but they may be dated later.
Fournier describes these cards thus:
"Commemorative deck of the 150th Anniversary of M.F.R. in the card-making industry in Russia, with 52 cards and a Joker. All the cards are luxuriously decorated with brilliant figures on a black background. The Aces and numbers are surrounded by gold floral designs. The Jacks are on horseback. Reverse printed in green and gold on a black background, with edging in cream. Made by MAWKOB E.N. Year 1967."
The deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus one blank (black) extra card. The cards are bridge size, measuring 90mm x 58mm, and come in the original box.
The cards are in excellent condition, "as new" or very nearly so. The box is in no better than good condition; both top side tabs are missing, one side is coming unglued and there is wear generally.
