Double deck of Dondorf patience size cards with Standard English courts, Dondorf's "Poker" design, No. 243. According to the World Web Playing Card Museum, these patience size cards were made from 1909-1933, and based upon the tax stamp on the Ace of Hearts of each deck, these cards date to the end of that period. They come in a custom fabric box that I assume is original to the cards.
There are 52 cards in each deck. I do not know if the patience size version of these cards came with a Joker, but neither of these decks has one. The cards measure 62mm x 43mm and have gold gilt at the corners.
The cards are in excellent lightly used condition, with most of the gold gilt intact. The colors on this Dondorf version of the Standard English Pattern are very beautiful. The box is in no better than good condition, if that, with one side of the top part of the box threatening to separate, and with wear and significant abrasions to the surface.
Thanks for visiting.
