Mint, sealed set of rarely seen “Politipack ‘88” cards, published in early 1988, featuring illustrations of 30 individuals announced or regarded as “potential” candidates for President in 1988, as things appeared before the nominating conventions. There are also “non-candidate” cards that state issues perceived to be among those that would dominate the campaign in that year. The cards are copyrighted to R. Billingsley. I do not know if he was the artist or the publisher of the cards, or both; I tend to doubt he was the maker. Included are illustrations of Pat Robertson, Bill Bradley, Elizabeth Dole, Al Haig, Pat Buchanan and Lee Iacoca, among others. It is interesting to note that a relatively young Donald Trump is the 6 of Clubs -- perceived to be a relevant political presence as early as 1988. The pictures in this listing are from an open deck, but the deck for sale is mint and still sealed.
The deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers with information about the deck. The cards are wide, measuring 89mm x 64mm, with square corners. They come in the original wrapper.
The cards and wrapper are in mint condition, with the wrapper still sealed.
