Wonderful deck of maritime cards, made c.1925 for Cunard Lines, shortly after the merger of Goodall into De La Rue in 1922. After the merger, De La Rue continued to use the Goodall name and Goodall court and joker designs, although as a company Goodall had been merged out of existence. I believe that the court cards of this deck are what Lodge shows as GD9.
The deck has 52 cards, including an original Ace of Spades, and the Joker noted. The cards are wide measuring 90mm x 64mm, with gold gilt around. They are in the original box.
The cards are in excellent lightly used condition, with approximately 50% of the gold gilt remaining and without issues of any kind. The box is also in excellent condition, with only the slightest signs of age and wear.
