Mint, sealed double deck of cards made by Brown & Bigelow (Redislip brand), based upon “gold foil etchings” of Lionel Barrymore. The backs of the decks are actually details of two Barrymore etchings: “Point Mugu” and “Purdy’s Basin.” While I am not completely certain, research suggests that these “gold foil” prints were reproductions of conventional Barrymore etchings that were made by B&B without Barrymore’s participation. The decks do not have tax stamps, and so I have dated them to the 1970s. That date is approximate.
Presumably, each deck has at least 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm, and come in what may be the original plastic box. The backs of the cards are not as dark as they appear to be in the pictures for this listing.
As noted, the cards are mint and sealed; the box is “as new.”
Thanks for visting.
