Double deck of relatively rare plastic playing cards made by Plastikard Corp. of Chicago, c.1950. Plastikard Corp. is not mentioned in the Dawson/Hochman Encyclopedia, and it is not to be found at the World Web Playing Card Museum. The Joker has a similar appearance to a joker used by Arrco in certain decks, including its Northbrook brand, and I would hazard a guess that at some point Plastikard was merged Arrco.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus a Joker, plus a Plastikard “Guarantee” card. The cards are bridge size, measuring 89mm x 58mm, and they come in the original “Miracle Plastikards” box.
The cards are in excellent condition, except that 1 card has a slightly darker “patina” and 1 has a nibble out of one corner (separately pictured). The box is in good, perhaps even very good condition, structurally sound, but with wear and some soiling to the red felt type material that covers the lid.
Thanks for visiting.
