Double deck of playing cards made by Waddington in 1964 for the quadracentennial celebration of Shakespeare's birth. The backs of each deck show the Shakespeare coat of arms and motto, "Non Sanz Droict" ("Not Without Right"), with Shakespeare's name above and inclusive life dates below.
Each deck has 52 cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus a backed card with bridge scoring. The cards are bridge size (90mm x 57mm), in the original box. The box has a special Shakespeare logo with his likeness, name and the years 1564 and 1964
The cards are in "as new" condition, and the box is in excellent condition, "as new" or very nearly so, except that there is slight abrasion/tear in the lower left hand corner of the lid.
