Gorgeous granulated silver lever back earrings hold a 1 ½ inch dangle of Sleeping Beauty turquoise ovals surrounded with Bali silver spacers and topped with deep orange carnelian and turquoise rounds. The necklace adjusts from 16 to 20 inches with a Bali silver hook into a Sterling silver chain.
The sleeping beauty mine is located in northern Arizona at the Nevada border on an Indian reservation. A very limited quantity of this rare turquoise is mined, completely by hand! It is noted for its solid, light blue color with little or no matrix. Sleeping Beauty turquoise is the favorite of the Zuni Pueblo silversmiths for use in petit point, needlepoint, and inlay jewelry. This mine is one of the largest in North America and is still operating.
