What a great item. It was acquired at a local estate auction It is a wonderful piece of American folk art of a carved wooden gentleman. The auctioneer said it was possibly Edgar Bergen's Charlie McCarthy. It does somewhat resemble him but I am not certain . It certainly could be because the estate it was purchased from was the estate of the late Charles "Duke" Mortimer a well established and credited television producer /writer/director during the early days of television trough the mid 1970's He was credited with such classics as The Beverly Hillbillies, McHale's Navy, The Dean Martin Show and many others. There was a good deal go television and entertainment memorabilia at the sale. Whatever the subject or whoever this dapper guy is It is a beautifully executed piece of fine wood carving. Expertly carved and detailed. The wood may be cherry I am not sure it has a nice weight and stands at 9" tall. Top hat tuxedo, he definitely appears to be one fine entertaining gentleman If you like the unusual and rare one of a kind folk art then this guy is for you. This is not a new piece indefinitely is vintage folk art and it makes a real statement. I love it... FREE SHIPPING IN USA.
