According to "Wiki" Demeter was the Greek goddess of the harvest, who presided over grains, the fertility of the earth, the seasons and the harvest. Her Roman cognate was Ceres.
This beautiful cameo with soft pink and white coloration is quite lovely and the neutral colors would make it easy to wear with anything. She measures 1-1/4" x 1" and her gold frame tested at 10K. Like most pieces of its time, the pin extends beyond the frame. There is an early safety clasp closure. The folding pendant bail is quite nice and a modern chain will easily fit through it (I have a number of gold and gold filled chains that are not listed but are available for purchase if needed).
This is a lovely piece for your collection! Please note that after the first round of photos I noted she was a bit dusty, so after a brush off took the outdoor photos; nice!
