These bright aqua thermoplastic discs are slightly folded inward on the edges in a convex design. They have sparkling light blue oval rhinestones accented by clear rhinestones.
The earrings are 1-1/8" long x 1" wide and are very dimensional because of the curve.
They are signed "Weiss" on the clips.
In excellent vintage condition on the front with a little wear to the clips not seen when worn, common to this style of popular jewelry.
According to Susan Klein in her highly researched book, "Mid-Century Plastic Jewelry", these sets with their clamper bracelets were originated by Weiss and the bracelet was called a "Bon Bon". The plastic in the bracelets was made by an umbrella manufacturer and the rhinestones were always Swarovski. Sue goes on to say that the bracelets were produced "from about 1950 to 1960 and in 48 different colors and color combinations." (I highly recommend this book as Sue did extensive research, talking to many in the actual industry.)
