I've collected Forbidden Fruit for 25+ plus years, once having over 65 of the fruits and vegetables in my collection. This is only the second mushroom pin I have found. It's an extremely hard-to-find, even rare, pin in the Forbidden Fruit series. Forbidden Fruits were made in Austria in the 1950s. The rhinestones are always sparkling and have stood the test of time.
This brooch has a Lucite or transparent plastic body in a light tan color. Swarovski Colorado topaz rhinestones adorn the mushroom's cap and even though this brooch is at least 60 years old, still sparkle and glitter to this day. The stem and little side mushroom are a muted gold-tone.
The brooch is 2-1/8" long x 1-3/8" wide and is very dimensional at 5/8" deep. It has a set-in pin stem and safety clasp which works correctly.
In excellent condition and looks like it has rarely, if ever, been worn.
