Bright molded turquoise-colored blue and lime- and kelly-green beads in several shapes including "stacked" flat flowers are accented by round turquoise-blue beads. The shorter strand of the necklace is 19-1/2" long and the longer strand is 22-1/4" long. The dangling beaded earrings are approximately 1-1/4" long.
The necklace has a partial sales tag indicating it was sold at Marshall Field Company in Chicago and the hook clasp is signed "Western Germany". The earrings are also signed "Western Germany" and come on the original sales card with "Lisner" on one side and "Western Germany" on the other.
Susan Klein, author of "Mid-Century Plastic Jewelry" writes in her article about this set in the March 2011 issue of "Antiques & Collecting" magazine, "Lisner sourced many of their plastic stones from Germany ... the set can be dated to the 'Cold War' period of the mid-1960s."
The set is in great condition with some darkening of the gold-tone findings which does not detract. A fun set!
