Charming Nippon 3-footed bowl with a hand painted, soft matte finish of creme and brown on the inside of the bowl depicting a cluster of full acorns and green leaves. On one side of the bowl in relief, a scene of stemmed brown acorns and brightly painted green leaves are found. The other side depicts a single stemmed brown acorn and brightly painted green leaves. The bowl is trimmed around the rim with black beading and scroll work, with the same found on the handles. Black scrolling is also found on the brown painted footing of the bowl. The bottom of the bowl is marked with the blue Nippon Maple Leaf, Hand Painted, with this mark dating back to 1891. This lovely bowl measures 7 ¼" handle-to-handle and stands 2 ¾" tall and is in excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs found.
