Attractive and beautiful hand painted vase that has managed to retain its vibrant colors all through the years. The top and bottom of the vase are shaded in turquoise trimmed in gold. The top portion of the vase has floral and scroll work in gold. On a background of creme, colors of burnt orange and light to pale blue create the flowers that are at the center of the vase. The center of the blue flower has shades of pale yellow and fans out to a nice golden color. Leaves in shades of green form the backdrop of the flowers. On the opposite side of the vase hides a white flower peaking from behind a leaf. Shades of burnt orange and yellow form the center of this flower where more leaves are scattered around it. Each flower petal is gilded in gold, along with gold highlights in some of the leaves. Some minimal wear in the gold trim due to age, but certainly does not diminish the attractiveness of the vase. No chips, cracks or repairs have been made to this vase. It stands 9 ½" tall and is approximately 5 ½" at its widest. Stamped on the bottom is "Made in Japan" in red ink. From research, this mark was used in the 1940's to 1950's. A stunning vase!
