West Germany Automated Singing Bird In Birdcage.
Not just a bird, but, he appears to be a male Goldfinch.
The bottom is signed Made in West Germany, also by the key wind is J C ST.
His beak moves as though singing, his tail bobs up and down while the perch rotates left to right.
Much to my surprise, no sound anymore.
This has been in my cabinet for around 20 years, not played with, instead just to enjoy the display.
I did not wind the key much today, instead, just enough to be sure he sings and moves...so sad to not hear his song anymore, surely an easy fix ?
Also much to my shock, when I examined the photos, this little bird's cross bar on this perch is missing !
It had to have been missing when I acquired it, because I never noticed it before, and the item really has been just sitting in the cabinet all those years.
I think one could maneuver on the the branches under his feet, and could serve as his perch.
He's so dear, truthfully, one just does not notice the missing brass bar that would have been cupped into his metal feet.
Notice the red velvet was tampered with, evidently whoever had this before me, we trying to find a makers signature.
The leaves and flowers a little dusty just due to age.
Due to the apologies noted, he is offered as is. Sometimes perfection is lost with age, he's beautiful, he's dear, and still displays beautifully.
Please bookmark my shop as I continue to sell the items I have collected since 1990.
I once lived in a huge house, but now in a small house, therefore, time to sell sell sell.
Tweet tweet, a sweet Goldfinch that does enjoy showing off this pretty colors, and still moves his beak and tail as though singing.
