Another great find from an estate in Central Pennsylvania. This came from an estate of a lady who traveled in Europe throughout the last part of the 1900s. She taught at a private school in Washington D.C, lived in Baltimore then retired in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. This etching was acquired during her travels then professionally framed by Purnell Galleries who has since gone out of business. A search of the internet show little for the artist T Roux other than some references to France in the 1800s.
As you can see this scene is of a small house our bungalow by a river in the winter. The workmanship is superb. Take a moment and review the photographs. Remember you can zoom in to get a closer look. The etching is framed in a gold tone wood frame and covered with glass. The outside of the frame measure 9 inches by 5 ¾ inches. The etching is 5 by 3 inches and is in very good vintage condition. This is a very interesting etching and will display well in most decors.
Thanks for visiting my shop and please do come back again. Antique and vintage items from the heart of Pennsylvania are added most days.
