This is a nice find for the Civil War collector, published circa 1890 by Leighton and Frey Souvenir View Co of Portland Maine. It is title Views of Gettysburg Battlefield and is a hardcover book with accordion style pages of photos of the famous scenes and sites of the battlefield. All the photos were done by the Tipton, the Battlefield Photographer, and this is indicated at the side of the last photo. Although there is no publication date, it was done circa 1890.

The cover has lovely embossing, decoration nd god gilt lettering. I have shown every page in the book in the photos, although technically, while they turn like pages, they are in there accordion style, so that you could unfold them into one long view. The last photo shows the accordion style setup. Condition is good with clean pages free of writing, some scuffs inside the back cover on the page with the publisher's info, some cover wear and corner bumps and edge wear on the cover. The last page (or bottom of the accordion fold out, if you will) has some corner bends, but there are no tears in the accordion folds, as is common on these old souvenir books. Overall, this is a wonderful compilation of the battlefield scenes, sites and monuments!
