An Eclectic Mix of Antiques and Collectibles from Central Pennsylvania
This is a nice older Santa figurine on a mica flocked paper mâché base that features a blue eyed clay face Santa holding a little bottle brush tree with two red pieces at the top for berries. He is wearing a felt coat and hat with chenille trim, and has a type of flocked or felt covered cardboard pants and chenille boots that are attached to the base with pieces of metal that you can see under the paper mache on the underside. The mica or snow comes up his pant legs, too, to make it look like he's been in the snow and he has a silver foil star for his belt buckle, which is covered up by his cotton batting beard, so is difficult to see in the photos. He stands about 6 & 1/4 inches high.
He is in very good condition with light wear, a small piece missing on the back of his belt and a nick on his nose. He also retains his original Japan paper label on the underside, that tells us he originally cost 10 cents.
