This charming old pincushion was done in the shape of a bellows and its made out what appears to be paper covered in embroidered grey silk and edged with chenille. Looking at the bottom where the air would come out on a real bellows, you can see rolled up paper is the material. In between the silk covered sides its a soft cushion for the pins or needles, also covered in silk that is light pink in color. The chenille is green and the embroidery is different colors on either side. It has a loop at the top of one of the top tabs for hanging and is almost 6 inches long. It is in good condition with some holes in the silk on one side, pin pricks from use, a few light stains and the chenille edging is loose in a few spots, but still attached. It is a lovely piece that someone spent a lot of time making many years ago.
Please see the photos as they show the condition and detail well.
