This is a lovely example of early treen ware, a 3 & 1/8 inch tall miniature bucket with lid and string handle that has a nice brown color and the patina is original. I haven't cleaned or polished it, as I prefer original patina personally. It is in good condition, with a rim nick where the lid goes on. It has a few variations in the color, usually at the spots where there is a knot in the wood and the color sets differently, and some age darkened patina on the lid. There is also some evidence of something that got stuck to the lid, perhaps the original paper label which got wet or something similar, which aged to what you see there now, and a spot on the underside. Please see the photos as they show the condition and the hand made details of this charming piece of folk art well.
