This is a nice find for those interested in antique US Navy & Marine books as well as their contents - published in 1909 by AC Mcclure of Chicago, with a copyright of June 19, 1909 entered at Stationer's Hall, London, and the University of Cambridge Press, this is an oversized hardcover volume illustrated with black and white photographs by HR Jackson (some include his signature) that is title appropriately Pictorial Log of the Battle Fleet Cruise Around the World Book. It was written by Roman J. Miller, the Chief Turret Captain on the USS Vermont. The pages are not numbered, but it is a 3/4 inch thick, substantial volume, with clean tight pages and a beautifully decorated cover. I have included photos of some of the illustrations throughout, which show, some interesting things, from the photos of the officers, to the men on the battleships and what they did on the ships, including diving and their mascots, and of course, the battleships, including guns being fired from one.
Condition is good with some light cover wear and smudges/scuffs on the front and back covers and some light corner bumps. The pages are clean and tight and free of writing. There is some light age darkening. The endpapers are maps in the front and blank in the back. The front cover/wrap is slightly loos as you can see in the photos with the maps, but it is still attached and should just be handled with care, given that this book is over 100 years old. Overall, though, the condition is good, considering the age. It will ship via USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance so the tit arrives safely.
