This is a nice vintage mid century modern set of wood salt and pepper shakers with gold lettering, decoration and gold colored metal tops that were sold as souvenirs at the New York World's Fair. They commemorate the Unisphere, and retain their original foil label on the underside indicating the date of 1961 and that they were presented by United State Steel. They rest on a wood stand, painted black to match the shakers and with a handle in the middle for carrying, which was made slightly crooked near the top. The holder is 5 inches tall and 4.25 inches wide. The set is in very good condition with no damage, minor wear to the gold lettering and some wear in the spots where the shakers sit in the stand. The shakers retain their original plastic stoppers on the underside for filling.
