This is Edward William Thomson's book entitled Smoky Days, published in 1896 by Thomas Y. Crowell & Co of New York, assumed first edition, with an illustrated cover and frontis illustration. It is a hardcover volume with 108 numbered pages and is in very good, clean condition, with a strong binding and clean, tight pages. It does have a little cover wear but considering the age, this book was well kept over the years, and I love the Arts & Craft type decoration around the illustration on the front cover.
Edward William Thomson was a Canadian poet and author. This particular book was a collection of short stories of local colour tales of French and Scots settlers in Canada. A great addition to a library or collection!
