This is a circa 1940s vintage English brass embossed tea caddy that features a hunting scene on the front, with a man bringing home what he got to his wife and child. It is brass over the wooden box and lid and lined in a silver metal or tin. The box sits on 4 feet and the 3 plain brass sides have a pebbled texture. On the underside, in the wood, it is marked Peerage Reg /Made in England. This company is no longer in business, Peerage was known to manufacture reproduction copper and brass items for the home.
It is in good condition with no damage, and has not been polished to preserve the patina. The liner has some discoloring from use and the underside of the feet do as well, otherwise, its fine and stands 6.25 inches high to the top of the finial on the lid and the sides are 4 inches wide.
