This is a quite a unique old photo from the World War II era that features a US Navy service woman from the WAVES, the World War II women's branch of the United States Naval Reserve, or Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service. This particular member of the WAVES is wearing her dress uniform and is out at the famed Stork Club that was in New York City. Many famous people over the years had their photos taken at the Stork Club, but during WWII, this club was extremely friendly to service men and women during the Second World War, always making room for them at tables or at the bar. We do not know the names of these people as nothing is written on the back, but this old black and white glossy photograph really captured these two WWII veterans. It is about 8 by 10 inches and in its original Stork Club folder that their famed photos were in. Overall condition is very good, wear is minor and the folder has protected it well. The folder has a little wear, but is still strong and intact and has the Stork Club info on the outside.
