This is a great old book for the collector of freemason items - published in 1869 by the Masonic Publishing Company of New York, this hardcover volume is entitled General History Cyclopedia and Dictionary of Freemasonry. It contains "an elaborate account of the rise and progress of freemasonry and its kindred associations - ancient and modern, also definitions of the technical terms used by the fraternity". In addition, there are upwards of 300 engravings throughout the 700 numbered pages. This is a large volume with gold gilt lettering and decoration on the cover and spine. The binding is strong and the pages are tight. There is some foxing throughout and a water stain on the top of the pages in the front of the book that gets lighter and smaller as you progress through the pages. There is a repair to a tear on the frontis and the original tissue paper that separates the title page from the frontis is intact. There is a little cover wear and edge wear on the spine, but considering the age, this book has survived nicely and is a treasure trove of information on the the freemasons. This would be a great addition to your library or collection.
