This is a neat find for the collector - a circa 1920 pair of Dutch ice or speed skates, made of wood and steel, with their original leather straps and marked J. Nooitgedagt &ZN .IJLST on the blade, each is marked R and L, and size 30 on the wood and they have the wood curls at the top which date them to circa 1920 for the Friesland types of these skates. They are in good condition, with the original leather straps still in nice shape, just with some use wear, as they were probably used for their intended purpose of speed skating. They are about 16.75 inches long and 2 & 5/8 inches wide across the widest part of the wood. These look wonderful when hung for display, especially around the holidays or with cabin decor.
