Published in 1943 by DH Bedford of NYC, this is a great piece or World War II domestic history - entitled ABC of Wartime Canning, it was given out by the Pennsylvania Supply Company in Harrisburg, PA, during the war. It is full of tips and recipes to handle the food rationing and wartime food scarcities, even telling us in the beginning that American housewives from coast to coast were planning active campaigns of home canning because of rationing and food shortages, and it encouraged the reader to keep their family healthy because healthy workers were more productive for the war effort and men were rejected for service due to poor health form lack of food. it is a softcover 32 page volume in good, clean, condition. there is minor cover wear. This is a great piece of history from the home front during WWII.
