Published in 1984 by Morningside House of Dayton, OH, this is Glenn Tucker's book entitled Chickamauga, Bloody Battle in the West, with maps done by Dorothy Thomas Tucker. It is dedicated to the memory of the DePauw University students "who fought in the great battle of the western armies at Chickamauga" in in September of 1863, a battle of incredible carnage, in fact it has been called the bloodiest 2 day combat ever engaged in by American fighting men. This hardcover volume with original dust jacket has 448 numbered paged and is written form the viewpoint that it was a soldier's battle, rather than a tactical operation controlled by general's maneuvers, bringing the reader's imagination to life in telling the story of the battle where two armies met by chance in the deep woods of North Georgia in September of 1863.
Overall condition is very good +, with clean tight pages, a strong binding and only minor wear to the dust jacket.
