Published in 1992 by the author and Jostens of State College, PA, this is a first edition/first printing, one of 1500 copies, of Craig Angle's book entitled The Great Locomotive Chase. It is also author signed on the first blank page and retains its original dust jacket. It details the Andrews Raid during the Civil War and the first Medal of Honor recipients from the Ohio Volunteers; Jacob Parrott, William Pittinger, William Bensinger, William Reddick, Robert Buffum and Elihu Mason. Their pictures are included in ten black and white illustrations.
Overall condition is very good, with clean, tight pages and a strong binding. The dust jacket has minor wear and there is residue on the top right corner of it from a price sticker, and a tear on the front top side edge. Angle's reexamination of William Pettinger's account of escape from Georgia by rail is fascinating and there are also illustrations throughout. This would be a great addition to your library or collection.
