Published in 1883 by Charles Scribner's Sons of New York, this is A.A. Humphreys' book entitled The Virginia Campaign of '64 and '65 The Army of the Potomac and The Army of the James. Humphreys was a Brigadier General and Commander of the Second Corps of the Army of the Potomac, among other titles. This hardcover volume is dark blue with gold lettering on the cover and spine. It has 10 fold out maps at the back, 2 of which have tears/damage. The rest look as if they are ok, with a little wear. There are 451 total pages and they are free of writing or marks, but have some expected age darkening and there is a name written inside the front cover in pencil and some minor foxing in the beginning pages. The binding is intact and the pages are tight. There is cover wear, corner bumps and edge wear. This in depth chronicle of the Virginia Campaign is a nice find for the Civil War buff and would be a great addition to your library or collection.
