This is a great old putz Christmas candy container from the late Victorian era that features Santa at the top of a chimney holding a miniature brown bottle brush tree. Santa has a composition type face and is dressed in a fuzzy chenille type red suit, which has faded slightly, and there is soft snow like material around him at the top of the chimney. The bottom of the chimney opens as shown in the pictures and the entire piece is 6.5 inches tall and about 2.25 inches across the graduated base of the chimney. For a piece of cardboard putz of this age, it is in very good condition with minor wear and is still quite sturdy. There are a few spots of wear on the bottom corners of the base, and Santa's suit is faded as mentioned previously, but overall, this lovely old piece is in nice shape and is not something you see very often any more - a nice example of early Christmas decor.
