This original oil painting on board features a scene in North Eastern Pennsylvania. The artist chose a fall setting and the trees are just beginning to change colors before the onset of winter. The painting is in a finished mahogany frame. The frame does have slight wear. Also there is minor paint loss on the left tree line but it is minor and does not detract from the overall quality. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description. The frame measures 18 x 14 inches and the frame is an 1 1/4 inches wide. The artist signed painting has the number 23. I thought that was the date it was painted. However on the back the artist wrote, ‘Wilderness Falls 3/31-53 by M. W. Lehman to Miss N. O.’ So, not sure if it was painted in 1923 and later presented as a gift in 1953. Based on the label on the oil board I do believe it was painted in 1953 and the 23 perhaps is the number in a series. I have another painting by the same artist in my shop at the time of this listing. Take a moment and take a look, you will be pleasantly surprised.
