This is a beautiful old powder, patch or vanity box that features a miniature portrait on the lid. It is celluloid, with beaded edges on the lid and brass trim around the portrait which appears to be on porcelain. It screws shut and is 1 & 5/8 inches tall by 1 & 5/8 inches in diameter. It has a mirror on the underside of the lid, but as you can see from the photos, it has quite a bit of desilvering. There is also a split in the back rim of the lid, but it still screws shut fine. Otherwise, there is no there is no other damage. There is some writing in pencil inside the bottom of the box (some letters and numbers). Overall, it is quite a sweet little piece that displays beautifully with a vintage vanity set.
