This is a wonderful old book for the collector - a hardcover volume of Howard Leigh's Planes of the Great War published by John Hamilton Ltd of London, but no publication date. This hard to find volume has 111 pages and is full of illustrations - plates with Howard Leigh's signature at the booth of each documenting the planes of World War One. It is an incredible old book in good condition with a strong binding. There is some minor foxing on some pages and some discoloration on some where the plates were glued in. The cover has some wear as well, with corner bumps and spine wear. It was also a former library book in the Detroit Public Library System, but only in the reference section, so there is a card slot in the back which does state that it was not to be removed from the reference room, meaning it was not circulated regularly to patrons. There is also some writing in pencil on the printing page and a 1935 date stamp and two pages with the punch marks for Detroit Public Library, and the numbers are on the spine. There are also a few pages with some edge wear and corner folds, and the plates have prevented the pages from laying completely flat, however, all those wonderful plates of the planes are there, along with their corresponding names and the information about them.
