Available is a hand-colored photograph by David Davidson titled Birch Sentinels depicting a narrow path winding past white birches and other trees. His work is on par with other in during this era such as Wallace Nutting, Charles Sawyer, Villar and others. The frame measures about 7 1/2 by 5 3/4 inches with a picture 3 by 2 inches. The overall condition is good. The frame is original and there is some light wear to the matting, which is also original, in the bottom left and a small spot of foxing in the top right of the matting. The original sticker on the back is from a specialty shop in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and dates to the 1930’s. Pictures such as this were quite popular in the early 1900’s and were often given as gifts for weddings, birthdays and other special occasion. This is an estate find and is in original as found condition.
