This is a wonderful book for the collector of Spode china or porcelain. Published and printed in Great Britain in 1970, the author was a senior executive of the Spode Company and the time the book was written, so had access to their incredible archives and original pattern books. It contains nearly 350 drawings of Spode shapes executed in 1820 and 1821, 74 blueprinted patterns and 311 plates, 9 of which are in color, all carefully selected to illustrate the text. Its an incredible historical compilation of a company that has made table setting an art. It is an oversized hardcover volume with its original dust jacket. It is in very good, clean condition, with a strong binding and clean, tight pages. The dust jacket has a little wear, but has protected the cover wear. There only writing to note in the book is the previous owner's name inside the front cover.
