This is a lovely old porcelain or white ironstone Victorian era toothpaste jar. It most likely had a paper label as the lid is not decorated with a maker's name. It is 1.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. It has some crazing and some nicks/chips on the rims of both the lid and the bottom, which has two rims. There is also a dark imperfection on the inside, which is raised, so was most likely done in the making. Otherwise, it is fine and a lovely old piece.
