This charming antique children's schoolbook is titled Monroe's New First Reader and was published in 1885 by Cowperthwait & CO of Philadelphia. Its hardcover, with 111 pages. Its got some black and white illustrations throughout. It measures almost 7 & 1/2 inches by 5 & 1/4 inches Its in very good condition with a strong binding, some light cover and spine wear, and pages free of writing, but with some occasional smudges from and a few small tears. I did see some faint pencil marks inside the back cover. A nice Victorian reader still in nice shape!
