This is a charming antique die cut valentine card done in the shape of a flower basket with doves and honeycombs that open out and will allow it to securely stand. This is the older type of honeycomb card with the metal flaps to secure it open on the edges, and I always wondered at some of these as the metal flaps have to be bent and can have rough edges, so for little hands of children, they were likely a bit unsafe... I did place the metal flaps gently to show how it opens in the photos, but the new owner may be better at it than I was. This one also has the metal flaps on the bottom. Its not marked, is in very good condition with minor wear and the only writing is an inscription with a date of 1918, which is hidden once its open. It measures 5 & 5/8 by 4 & 1/2 inches. A pretty old card for your sweetheart!
