For all you history buffs out there, this is a great stickpin of French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte with loads of detailing.
Napoleon is depicted in a raised design with his characteristic bicorn hat and hand placed in his vest. Underneath is the French eagle which sat atop blue regimental flagpoles that his army would carry on to the battlefield. It is said that to lose an eagle would bring shame to a fighting unit, which had pledged upon the symbol's receipt to defend to the death.
Measures 2&1/2" tall by just over 1/2" across.
The piece tests as 800-830 silver and is signed by Jacques...Ed...". The last name is too worn to make out.
Excellent condition, with some wear (tarnishing).
