Here is a graceful Victorian Pin dating to approximately 1880-1899.
The large piece features two old-cut diamond-set wings or ribbons at each side, and two smaller ones below. The top is crowned with three small diamonds and three pearls arranged in a Prince of Wales configuration.
Diamonds are an assortment of 17 small old-cuts, including rose-cut and old mine cut, and set in sterling silver with a 9K gold backing. Pearls range from 4-6 mm.
Pin fastens with a long trombone clasp and there is a gold safety chain for extra security. Brooch measures 2&1/4" across and weight is 5.7 grams.
Good antique condition for a pin of this age, with some wear in keeping with use. Pin at the back is ever-so-slightly bent. Could use a good cleaning.
I can just barely make out the "375" mark on the back pin, with what I believe to be a maker mark. The marks are very worn. Tests as sterling silver with 9K gold.
